Women's Ministry

Women’s Ministry at Suntree offers many different opportunities for growth and relationship for women. Below are a few of those opportunities! Interested in different offerings? Email Pastor Bailey at

Thursday Morning Women's Ministry - September 12th through October 31st

Then, classes will meet every Thursday from September 12 to October 31. Each week, everyone is invited to join us in the Dining Room from 9-9:30am for refreshments, a time of fellowship, and a short devotional from one of our Women’s Ministry leaders. All Grow Classes will go from 9:30am-11am. Some classes may require you to purchase reading materials. Scan the QR code to find the book on Amazon, or order it from your local bookstore!

MomCo (formerly MOPS) | 9am-11am | Room 103/104 | Jenny Murdock and Sarah Mayes. MomCo was founded in 1973 when seven women invited moms to meet regularly to grow together as women, parents, and leaders with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus. We encourage and equip moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church. If you’re ready to connect with other young mothers, MomCo is the place to be!

Bible Study: Jonah and Hebrews | 9am-11am | Room 101/102 | Cathrine Larrea. Join us for a traditional Bible study led by experienced bible teacher Cathrine Larrea. For the first five weeks, we will take a deeper look into the little book of Jonah. It’s not just about a big fish, but rather a story of God’s grace, mercy, and love. Then we will move onto the book of Hebrews, which reminds us that God is worth our effort. We will begin our exploration of the priestly ministry of Christ in the life of the believer. Hebrews part two will be offered in January. Bring your bible. No other materials are needed.

Seasons of a Woman’s Life | 9am-11am | Room 109 | Patty Rexrode. Women are all unique, with different goals, different roles, different dreams, and different stories to tell. Taught by Patty Rexrode, this class will help you record your own life goals (fulfilled and unfulfilled), your feelings, and especially your memories with an interactive journaling project for your personal history. The meeting questions will be suggestions for your evaluation of your seasons as a woman. Limited to 10-12 women, age 50+.

Gut-Level Compassion | 9am-11am | Dining Room | Barbara Thompson. PERFECTION NOT REQUIRED! Join us for a deep dive into the Gospel of Luke, where we discover that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, this gospel reveals that Jesus is especially fond of ragamuffins in need of a safe place to lean in and linger! Join us in this Bible Study of a gospel that doesn’t celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked! Please purchase a copy of Luke: Gut-Level Compassion in preparation for this class. You can purchase it through Amazon here, or order it through your local bookstore.

Book Study: When the Saints Go Flying In | 9am-11am | Room 108 | Toni Zahn. Stories have the ability to transport us to different times and places. They have the power to inspire, challenge, distract, and transform lives. We tell stories to entertain, change minds, and share experiences. Methodist-turned-Episcopalian priest, Joseph Yoo, uses the power of stories – both ancient and contemporary - to remind us how we are often unexpectedly intertwined with one another and with God. Please purchase a copy of When the Saints Go Flying In by Joseph Yoo for this class. You can purchase it through Amazon here, or order it through your local bookstore.

Suntree Kids Nursery | 9am-11am | Nursery (Room 209) | Kaitlin Francavilla. Need a break from the kids when you come to Thursday Morning Women’s Ministry? We are delighted to offer FREE childcare for children aged 6 weeks old through VPK during our weekly gathering time of 9am-11am. Drop off your kids at the nursery, and our staff will take it from there! This program will be overseen by our Director of Children’s Ministry.

Thursday Morning Enrichment (K-5) | 9am-11am | Room 321 | Melissa Ebner. Parents and kids (homeschool students, K-5) are invited to join us for a science lesson, Bible Verse, and time of enrichment. This class will be led by Melissa Ebner, along with guest speakers who will join us for lessons about yoga, engaging with people with all abilities, and more! For more information, please visit the Thursday Morning Enrichment Facebook page.

MomCO (formally MOPs)

MomCo (formally MOPs) is a gathering of moms coming together for community, conversation, and friendship. The goal of MomCo is to meet each mom where she is and walk beside her as she embarks upon the crazy and beautiful journey we call motherhood. YOU, mama, will get exactly what you need and will be surrounded by other moms just like you. You cannot be supermom all the time, which is why we are happy to offer FREE childcare!
